Hi All!
I have a really strange problem!
At first my specs:
Celly600@900
Abit BH6
256MB RAM (2x64MB, 1x128MB, all for CAS2)
Elsa Erazor3pro (TNT2)
IBM 13.5GB HDD, 7200rpm, 2MB Cache
DSL via Telekom (A German Provider)

I've been running WinME on my PC for two months without any problems! But then, I think after installing a little bit too many programs, I suddenly got except faults and all that windows error bull****!
So I've formated and installed Windows completely new! I've only installed all my drivers (latest versions) and some prgrams like ICQ, Napster, mIRC, WinAMP....
But I still get these sucking errors and now even Bluescreens (before reinstalling windows they didn't appear!). Sometimes even the complete system crashes down.

And there is another VERY strange problem: My MP3-files are decaying! They were all fine until these errors started! Now they have funny sounds in them, klicks, whistles and so on... I actually dunno where that comes from!
And now my question to you: What can cause that ****?? The RAM? The CPU (it happens even when clocked with 600!)? Perhaps the HDD?

Please help me! I don't know any other possibilities to get rid of that!

It could be hardware but...

Maybe overwritten DLLs - this can be a nasty problem to sort out. You may want to backup your important files and try a clean install.

One more thing, for me dual booting Linux and Windows had been a godsend when it comes to distinguishing between hardware and software problems. If Linux will boot and run a variety of programs, access CDs, massive multitasking, etc. then the hardware is likely okay... just another Windows meltdown.

The problem is, that I've installed windows just yesterday! a clean installation after formatting the disk! and still the same problems.
And what about my decaying MP3s? do rotten DLLs cause such things?

Where are your MP3's located? On a different partiton? Maybe you picked up a virus and it took up residence on a different partition than the C:.

Yeah, had those problems too, before switching to Linux. Maybe you should look into it. Also, I am a computer salesman with a conscience, and feel guilty everytime I sell a computer since they all come preinstalled with WinMe.

I think that if you are still having problems after formatting and doing a clean install, it must be a hardware issue. Could be the CPU or memory. Try going in and reseating the memory, cables and CPU. Give it the once over jiggle. Also make sure there is plenty of thermal paste between the CPU and heatsink... Hope that works out for you.

No, I do not think DLLs are causing your present distress. It does look like a hardware issue.
