I have a cable modem that is hooked up by charter,net. They supplied me a cable modem that will only work via USB. Can I get a splitter so one cable modem can be used on 2 PC's?

No...but you can use a switch.
USB sux for networking. Call them and ask for an Ethernet modem. Do it. Trust me.
