I recently built a PC from hand-me-downs including a Gateway case with a 200 watt power supply. I have a CD-ROM, a CDRW, two hard drives, a floppy, a Soundblaster Live Value, A Voodoo 3 3000 AGP, and an Antec expansion slot type fan. Everything works great as is, but I am going to upgrade from the current Celeron 466 to a PIII 800EB to take advantage of the 133 FSB (supported by the motherboard). I do not plan to add anything else or overclock my CPU. Any reason to be concerned about the power supply?

Hey crazyray, although you do have alot of peripherals in your system, it should be ok... Although having a bigger power supply wouldn't do you any harm... It's like having insurance.

Any hints I should look for that would indicate this power supply is not enuff...beyond, like, it stops working. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Dude, if you're asking the question, its probably time to replace it... But serioulsy, a 300 watt PS should give you more than enough power for reserve, future upgrades and also have a spare PS for trouble shooting.
