My mouse pointer blinks in proportion to the task the cpu is completing. As an example, when a web page is downloading, the pointer blinks, when I click the start button then to programs and choose a program with a subfolder, the pointer blinks once when the subfolder comes up. One more example, when I put my pointer on an icon in the system tray, the pointer blinks once when the words are displayed.

This is a new system, a day old. Any ideas? It is really annoying once you notice it.

Maybe it's a "feature". http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

You don't say which operating system. Maybe there's a place like Control Panel >Mouse >Pointer that lets you select such things.

Normally, I'd say reinstall the drivers, but you said this system is a day old. Maybe you need more updated drivers.

It is just a standard ps/2 microsoft scroll mouse, does the same thing with a basic logitech too. Which drivers do I need to reinstall? I did not see any settings in the control panel to idicate the blinking cursor mode....... Driving me crazy. Thanks for any help.
