Napster 2.0 beta 9 ~ DON'T DO IT !!!

After not using Napster for a while, I found it was missing a .dll file. So I downloaded the latest - v2.0 beta 9 and installed it.

I started getting warnings about various files the install had changed. Then Norton AV wouldn't load, Kensington Mouseworks was corrupted and the promised fix by restarting W98SE didn't fix anything.

I uninstalled Napster and reinstalled W98SE. Now I'm OK and I'll live without Napster for now.

i did it, and it actually fixed some of the things that were wrong with beta 8

I am using beta seven...Don't plan on upgrading as I only have one problem with it. It stores my pasword but I need to reenter it to log in. What porblems were you having with the other versions that prompted you to upgrade?

I've gone back to Beta 6. Beta 8 really stunk, many bugs. Clearly, they are preparing to charge for this service.

beta 6 and 7 supposedly spy on your system and i'm guessing beta 8 (is that the new one? whichever is the newest) is suppose to be ready for their new billing system, i think.

anyhow, i cant get any of the napster versions working on any of my systems. what's another popular mp3 searchy proggie? iMesh (spyware?)?

there is an aight mp3 sharing program called audiognome, you can get it at www.download.com, (http://www.download.com,) Napster in my opionion is the best mp3 sharing program out there. But beta 8 sucked, the playback was all choppy and terrible, so people with beta 8, i suggest you get a new version of napster or playback files winamp

I just installed beta9 and I can't do anything. it can't find any files, it can't search for a **** thing. I kept getting parsing errors in the main window. beta 8 worked fine for me. never had a problem (i didnt use it for playing my mp3s). **** beta 9 screwed me.

Hey Guys, forget Napster it's absolute rubbish. Instead use AudioGalaxy. You can download any number of songs in one go and it resumes your downloads. I use to hate it when you had downloaded 99% of a song and then it crashed.....ahhhhh! This isn't a problem anymore! If any of you are interested check out>>>>

Beta 8 gets me about 1 complete file for every 20 "transfer errors". Sucks.

nappy has auto-update to force newer versions

Why use any of that **** to get MP3's? Just use newsgroups. If you are looking for a song or album just post a request and you will have it 99% of the time at a better bitrate than crapster. And you will get the FULL song!
