Setting up RAID on W2k Server

I am told it is possible to create a RAID array on standard hardware (i.e. no RAID controller)with Windows 2000 Server; anyone have any experience with this?

Depending on what type of RAID you're looking to configure you can do it on Win 2k pro also. Server allows for RAID 5 also, pro is only RAID 0 if I remember correctly.

Is it possible to setup level 1?

Win2K server supports RAID 0, 1, and 5.
Everything is done in the Disk Management console.
You need to upgrade your drives to "dynamic disks" before you can do any software RAID.
