........or should i continue to handle it myself two and a half times the total memory,in my case,(256mb)640 max,640 min?

I have always done this although is it really needed?
What do you think? Any advice/comments welcomed please http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

I ran many machines equiped with all the memory configurations you can imagine, and I learned that althought Windows wastes a LOT of memory and resources, it does nice work, and if you have this amount of memory, you'd better let the system to configure itself and don't mess too much with it. Memory tuning adviced to someone who owns P90 with 16 MB EDO http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif (didn't want to offence anybody http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif )

...well i have read the reviews & picked up a few useful tips.
I took advice from NDC and disabled virtual settings,re-booted,defragged my HDD and then re-booted applying my new virtual settings to 2x my memory - 512 min & 512 max.

Should i chane my VCache settings?
I've been advised to divide my memory into 4
(64) & then multiply by 1024.The final figure,(don't have a calculator yet http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif )
can then be written in the VCache section as min & max settings.
I'm gonna go with that although i'd appreciate some more opinions on the matter.................

If you use the "Search" feature here and search on virtual memory, you'll find 4 days worth of reading http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
