I have just upgraded to an ATX PC case and.....*I feel stupid asking this*....what does the little switch on the back of my PSU do exactly? Is it different voltages? I live in the UK and have an AMD 850 CPU and Microstar 6330 Mobo. Should the switch be on the 'O' or the 'I' setting?

Any help is gratefully received.

Actually, that's the on/off switch for the power supply. The other power switch controls the soft-on / soft-off functions of the motherboard. You'll probably be leaving that in the I position unless you're working on the computer. Also check the voltage switch. I think you UKers need 220, but verify with someone else too.

The labeling of these power switches is binary.

0 = none

1 = some

J/K,---- That's an on/off master switch for the power supply.

Nominal voltage UK and europe (we have 'harmonised') 230v, the 220v setting will do fine.
The big switch is on/off, totally switching the psu off.
