I have just ordered a new system, however I have found out that the ram used is only PC100, obviously for price reduction. However there will be 256mb of ram, so is the speed really going to suffer at all. It a major disadvantage loosing the extra speed from PC133, or will I hardly notice. Also are all Athlons over 1000mhz (mines at 1.2mhz) socket processors, in other words are they all Tbirds.

From the point of buying a complete system I'd say it's not worth worrying about, just enjoy the new system. In order to benefit from pc133 ram your board has to be able to support it. If I was just going out to buy a stick of ram or wanted to overclock I'd say its a different story.

One thing about upgrading - there is no end to it
