How do i get multicoloured names in quake 3 based games

This may sound a bit lame but i wanna have a nice multicoloured name in all my lovely Quake 3 engined games (RTCW, Quake 3, jedi knight 2 etc).

i wondered if you could possibly go about telling me how to do this.

You are right, If you had even tried to find this on you own you would have gotten a lot of hits.

Try using google search. www.google.com

If you had typed in "Quake 3 names color" minus the quotes, in the box you would have gotten all kinds of relavent links.

But to answer your question here is how you do it:

bring down the console with the tilde key (~)

type \name "^1C^2R^3A^4O^5L^6A ^1K^2I^3D"

(don't type the word "type", DOH!) with the quotes if you want spaces in your name.

CRAOLA KID in a rainbow of colors is now your name!

The color is picked with the ^ (above the 6) then a number 1-8 then the text you want in that color.

123 easy peasy japan easy.
