Has anyone bought a computer from Tiger Direct, and were you satisfied with it ?
Anything to look out for with them ?

Thanks for any info........

I've never bought a complete system from them, but I have bought enough components to build several. Go service and usually fast shipping. Make sure that what you are ordering is in stock/when it will ship! They will put stuff on back order and you won't know until you get your invoice!

Rated 2.9 on a scale of 1 to 7 (7 being good)

I looked around their site once. They mispelled Duron so many times I kind of took that as a hint of things to come.(or not come) But, maybe I'm too picky.

I had a neighbor back in Northern MN who bought from Tigerdirect and he swore by them. He received exceptional customer and technical service from Tigerdirect and never had a problem with returning anything (even when he tried a new component and decided to up-grade it immediately.

If you want another site that's good on price AND service try

<A HREF="http://www.tcwo.com/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.tcwo.com/</A>

They will even do Western Union.

Steve, The reason they mis-spell may be because Tiger Direst is located in the Hialeah area (All Cubans). But suprisingly they do have good customer service for the most part. I'd like to see them drop their prices a bit tho.

I do not like Tiger Direct mainly cbecause their deals are never deals. I have seen their blowout deals compared to Pricewatch and they are never that spectacular. They also do not have a good rep...

My brother bought me a computer a year ago from Tiger Direct. With AMD K6-2 processor and 32mb ram for $60. Granted, I sold my soul to Juno for 3 years. But it's working out pretty good. I'm not really a gamer, so I couldn't tell you about graphics or anything. But my modem burned out a couple of months ago (have no idea how that happened, just stopped working one day). I've tried adding two different pieces of ram, which the computer didn't like apparently (but i hear that AMD's are picky about the kind of ram you have). And when they sent me the computer, they sent me a keyboard that could not connect to the computer because of the port... But when I called they sent a converter fairly quickly.
I wouldn't recommend any of the deals with the ISPs, cause Juno stinks.

Oddly enough, my sister got the same $60 deal. And guess what? Her modem died. It had to be taken out to have the computer boot up. She also didn't get the adapter for the keyboard. She is also having problems with memory.

Every other dealing with Tigerdirect has been very good.
