has anyone encoutered this problem yet?
i can connect to a server but as soon as napster downloads its start up page, napster freezes on me. first i thought it might of been a problem in the registry (foolishly cleaning up the win registries) becuase i tried to install napster beta 5 *with resume* but that froze as well.

do i need the latest beta 8?
cause i was using beta 7...

thx

I have never used Napster nor do I know anyone who has.

The version of Nappy you have should not be a problem, though I hear there are fewer transfer errors on the newer versions.

If you click on a name on your favorites list, to check their list of files, and they have MANY files, the program will freeze for several minutes sometimes.

Depending on the speed of your connection, it may eventually complete receiving the list and return to normal function.

Hello!
I too had this problem some time ago. I uninstalled my AOL adapters and let the AOL program build new ones. Perhaps by simply uninstalling and re-installing your network drivers will reset everything to work.

Napster has message boards also..you might want to look there.

Would NOT recommend upgrading to Beta 8 just yet. There are some bugs to work out. I actually re-installed my Beta 7 again

Hope this helps!! Have a GREAT DAY!!!

I find it interesting that it's BETA 7 that is freezing, cause I downloaded 8 recently and it freezes much more than 7 ever did. It doesn't freeze when it loads the webpage, but if I'm searching for something, it'll freeze if I click the transfer tab. And I can't click on anything if I'm browsing another users file (which I hadn't tried in beta 7, so I don't know if it was like that before).

kb178, that isn't really considered napster crashing. that is just a temporary thing because napster is in the process of dispalying/pinging your results of a search.
I dont know if that problem occurs if you have cable but with dialup, cause of the limited speed, it takes awhile to process the search. If you made your searches more specific and turned off "ping results" (whatever its called), you can minimize that problem.

my problem is when it is done logging onto servers, it will just freeze, cant open the window, cant click and buttons or menus, i would have to press alt+ctrl+del to find that its [not responding].
