Yeah the SP is great. I have it for Ps2 and it is great.

Played it now for about two hours. Great much improved graphics (NFS ?), great SP, the game is simply kickz aZZ :D

I got GTA3 yesterday and it looked and played terrible. At 640*480*16 it ran like a slug, this is on this machine : sysopt report (http://www.sysopt.com/cgi-bin/overc/readfull.cgi?db=b&r=11262). I read the readme, and changed the settings it said, eventually figured out how to change the resolution (der, hit enter :rolleyes: ) and it still runs slow in fog/rain. I mean thats not on :mad:

Oh well, good excuse to get new Gcard me thinks. Still looks rather nice on the PC :D

THe graphics are stunning, gameplay is better, and everything is impressive.

I got the PS2 version when it first came out. THe computer version is just so much better.

Lol...This game is GREAT. Picked it up yesterday afternoon and stayed up until 2:00am with an evil grin plastered on my face. Thank god it's friday and I've got the day off! Break yoself foo! Gimme yo *****!! Time to sift through my mp3's until I find some "fitting" tracks for the mp3 radio station.

gotta agree with Doc evil - great looking but curiously slow in places, even on my fairly decent rig. when cornering in cars i seem to get slowdown, and whilst travelling in a straight line there is an occasional --- oh well - upcoming webdesign job, i'll soon babel to replace my gf2Mx400 64mb for a nice new Gf3 Ti 200 ---- which i will then proceed to o/c the ***** out of :d.

Apart from that - bloody marvellous game!!:D

graphics performance is really bad, very dissapointing , i feel like im driving a manual car for the first time the way the car slows and speeds up again , i can bare its at 640x480 but at 800x600 its worthless, first game i can find were my system cant handle it at 800x600 , not that bad for an athlon 900 and geforce 2 mx i guess...

Well, I guess the game really require a high end computer.

hah, with my P4 1.8, and GeForce4 TI4400, there is absolutely no problem playing. i just played it three days straight. Man, I was hooked by the Taxi mission alone. 86 drops and 109 drops earned me nearly a million. (Then, unfortunately, I cannot find a way to spend that money).

Sniping is much better since I can do it with the mouse.

Great game, just to reclaim my point.

GTA3 for the PC is good, no doubt about it,but its just the same as the PS2 version!!
Same graphics, plays just the same and runs the same !!??
I've got it on both and given the choice play it on PS2 - partly because of the controller being so easy on a PS2.:x

well the graphics are much better and cleaner at higher resolutions then they are on ps2 but the actual gameplay is exactly the same, which doesnt really mean much since the game is awesome to begin with, but i think they should of thrown in a little extra since gta became popular on the pc with gta 1 and 2 , and that pc gamers had to wait a while for its release, but nothing was added that i know of , multiplayer would of been great but whatever.... when i was playin gta1 , i dreamed of the game being in full 3d and how it would be and they did it perfectly

I have this on my PS2 and can't put it down.

It's surprising how much PC power you need to run it, what with stories of Geforce 2MX/Athlon users having to dip into the 40 x 480 territory just to get a decent framerate. Could be bloated software I guess..

I don't think I'll get this game on the PC, from what you've said. Not until I get that Geforce 4 ti 4200 card or better. Which is where I beleive the Ps2 has the edge!

Is the music the same? I loved the radio tunes in the PS2 version - they don't get boring and the variety is pretty decent.

Also, perhaps if enough people pester the developers, a patch may be released to speed things up a bit and clean up a few glitches. The developers certainly earn enough from the asking prices so I don't see why they shouldn't ablige.

However this is a great game. It should have warning about not putting it down for hours on end and loosing all your mates, but that's the price of perfection I guess!

Now, where did I leave that bus I stole after I finished off some mob bosses and blasted the cops to shreds..:cool:

I like the PS2 version better basically because A game like that I need a controler. I have tried the keyboard joystick combo, mouse keyboard, and finally keyboard wheel. i just cant get a good feel.

Graphics look good at 1024x768 on a geforce 3 ti 200 and t-bird 1.4ghz

I didn't bother to get the PC version as I already have it on the PS2. However, this game is so great and so addicting. I've had it since it was released in Oct. last year, and I still play it from time to time. There's nothing like getting a "working girl" to replenish your health then run her over when you're done so you can get your money back...

I just prefer the controler and overall feel of the PS2 version. I like sitting back in my big chair with a nice big t.v playing it on.

I have read that the coding and resources for GTA3 are in terrible dis-array and will make modding difficult.

Me really want a multiplayer tho.

This means that DMA Design (developer of GTA3) even implemented multiplayer into the application itself.
