just a side question... is it Inexpesve or Independant Disks? i have seen both represented, but have not come to a clear conclusion.

or is just one of those things?

The latter. ;) It's still RAID, no matter what the third wird is. :p

By the way, there are other RAID types - 0+1 and 10.
