shame, heh, just kidding

Save your parents some money and just buy a compaq wheel mouse.

Well,:p , I'm using a $10 compaq wheel mouse, works great, not that high tech, but definitely enough for FPS games. Not problem with accuracy in CS.

I'm just a close minded person who has no money:(

I am using an old logitech £14 mouse from about 3years ago. Apart from regular cleaning it works a treat and still does.

I have a Logitech Dual Optical Mouseman I love it. So light and fits my hand really nice. I cant use any other mouse after this one. It is my secret to winning in FPS online.

I'm a lefty, and the logitech mouseman is the best mouse I've ever used. I have a standard logitech optical right now, which is a good mouse, but the shape of the mouseman is great.

However, I prefer a PS/2 mouse to USB, if you have PS/2 Rate you can jack the polling rate higher than USB and you're not using a USB port for a mouse. I can't put anything else in the mouse port, so why should I put a mouse anywhere else?

i like USB beacuse every PS/2 mouse i had the computer never decteched the real mouse. It would just say PS/2 mouse. The wheel didn't work until i hunted down the driver. But the USB was dectched right away.

Logitech WingMan gaming mouse USB. Very smooth and fast. It was around $29.

That's surprising bob05, every wheelmouse I've used Win98 has found the wheel right off the top, and had no problems with it. Haven't had to bother with drivers.

Logitech optical (2buttons and scroller w 3rd button)

Great mouse without all those extra buttons which I would just accidently click. Optical works great on PS2 and precise as well in graphics apps. Oh did i mention the $20 pricetag was great too and its a cool blue and grey so it never gets dirty lookin.

Only problem I have had with the mouse is in Alias / Wavefront Maya when you zoom you need to click both left and middle button. Sometimes with this mouse it causes the screen to get stuck in zoom mode til I click again.

Well, I'm a lefty too. mouse with balanced shape is more favored by me. Because because of work, many times I have to use mouse with my right hand(real hard in the beginning)

I see no point to put the mouse or keyboard into USB, that just totally take two USB slots(I only have two). heh

I should have mentioned that despite being lefthanded I generally prefer to use the mouse in my right hand. Part of this probably comes from having been typing for about 25 years and revelling in the fact that the QWERTY keyboard is actually biased towards the left hand. It's just always been easier for me to take my right hand off the keys than my left.

My favourite is:http://abacus.sj.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_46175879edcec1dd426db4f205/i-1.JPG

It wandered in one day and stayed.

Me too. I've used the Logitech optical mouse and this Micro Innovations (cheapo) optical mouse at work. When I first got my hands on the optical intellimouse I was hooked. Five buttons means I can do virtually everything on the mouse, which is important if you're trying to stay alive in Wolfenstein online. Taking your eyes off the monitor for a second to locate a key can kill you.

Precision wise the intellimouse seems to have it over the Logitech too. In fairness the logitech I'm compariing is over a year old and the intellimouse is only a few months old. Maybe the new logitechs are better?

My vote is still for the intellimouse (5 button optical).

Has anyone used a cordless optical? Is it that much better?

T:x

We have an Intellimouse Explorer at the house too, but I still prefer Logitech, though they've moved away from the old Mouseman Wheel shape and softened it. That was the best shape for a mouse I've ever used. One of those with dual sensors would just rock.

I don't like cordless mice, my brother has one, it just doesn't feel right.

How should a cordless mouse feel.

Rugor

I think a cordless mouse should feel no less comfortable and easy to use than a regular corded one.

It feels "off" somehow. I didn't like it. :)

Know exactly what you mean.
l don't trust them, every so often each of the several i've tried seems to go south for nibbles.

i use a microsoft optical mouse (2 side buttons, 2 normal, and wheel) it is really good but i think it would be better with a rat pad or other such 'gaming surface' but i heard nothing but good things about the boom-thingy and the explorer

Like it's too heavy?

I know I'm bitter if the cord gets wrapped when I'm in the middle of something and I get smoked.

I'd like to get rid of it, but if they feel weird I'll keep my tailed mouse.

Maybe, I think it's not only heavier, but the batteries also change the weight distribution so it feels off. At least that's how my brother's cordless mouse felt.

I use the Intellimouse Explorer optical. I know this has already been mentioned that it has 5 buttons, but to add to that you can configure it to have 7 functions if you program a function to wheel up and wheel down.

I'm very happy with my A4Tech WWW-11 model.
But if you need a cool mouse, go and buy this model: RFSOP-35.

"whats best gaming mouse? "

I've heard the Ethiopian door mouse is as fast if not faster then the Eithiopion chicken which is considered by some in the know to be the fastest animal in the world. If you can just teach it to play games it's potential is boundless. :D
