good question, but what i heard is that the max limit is 8. i dont think it will go for extra even if u add new card.

I'm considering using this board for a new system and am wondering about the onboard IDE.
I see 4 ports, 2 ATA66, 2 UDMA33. I have herd that the ATA66 ports are backwards compatible and that you can use 8 IDE devices.
Is this true, and how about using a Promise Raid card on this board? 10 devices?!!
