Thanks in advance. Biff 01-08-2001, 02:36 PM Here is a couple of sites to start with http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/ http://snowwhite.it.brighton.ac.uk/~mas/mas/courses/html/html1.html there is lots of web sites out there, try a search with google or dogpile hhh8785 01-08-2001, 02:41 PM I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but if you want some HTML stuff, one of my favorite places to go is here: http://www.pdcdesign.com/harvillo/ Good Luck http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif NDC 01-08-2001, 05:13 PM Previous thread regarding HTML codes: http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/010387.html wilbur 01-08-2001, 06:43 PM www.dynamicdrive.com (http://www.dynamicdrive.com) www.webmonkey.com (http://www.webmonkey.com) www.htmlgoodies.com (http://www.htmlgoodies.com) doctj 01-08-2001, 07:20 PM is ulead photoimpact any good for web page graphics design? It's free at microcecter after rebates was wondering whether I should get it Cygnus-X1 01-08-2001, 09:05 PM Yes it is! Photoimpact 5 is pretty good, especially for free! (after rebates) It has a cool JPEG/GIF/PNG optimizer for the web images. I use PAintshop Pro 5 and Photoshop 5, and I like to use Photoimpact for reducing the file size on images for web publishing. There are also other cool things!!! And for free: you have nothing to lose. Robert http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif rh71 01-09-2001, 11:59 AM Cygnus, I was wondering if that image optimizer of Photoimpact's is any better than Photoshop's "Save for Web". I use it a lot and if Photoimpact's optimizer performs better, I'm switching over!... so let me know if you think it is. NDC 01-09-2001, 05:01 PM I was wondering if that image optimizer of Photoimpact's is any better than Photoshop's It sure isn't! You have more precise control over optimizing for the web with Photoshop 6. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Cygnus-X1 01-09-2001, 06:36 PM If you don't have Photoshop 6, then PhotoImpact 5 is very cool to use. Me, I don't have Photoshop 6 ;( PhotoImpact 5 gives you a cool preview of the original image and the compressed image as you are optimizing. And there are plenty of options to choose from http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif And if it's for free (after discounts and rebates) you have nothing to lose! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Cygnus-X1 01-09-2001, 07:31 PM Here is a screen shot http://2112.htmlplanet.com/photoimpact.htm NDC 01-09-2001, 07:32 PM Yeah, I would have to agree with Cygnus-X1. You can't beat the price of PhotoImpact 5! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Biff 01-10-2001, 12:31 AM You can also optimize gifs on line http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/lesson15.html#gifoptimizer the ULead program I have has a good optimizer too. rowan 01-10-2001, 07:04 AM I would suggest Dreamweaver and Fireworks for web design if you can afford them. Check out www.macromedia.com. (http://www.macromedia.com.) In all honesty, I find that Fireworks does a better job in optimizing images for the web than Photoshop 6 does, though Photoshop is a far more elegant program for general manipulation of images. I'm biased, however. I've spent a lot more time with Fireworks than with Photoshop 6. There might be a lot I'm missing. Dreamweaver is probably the single favorite program I've ever used, especially after coding html by hand. It certainly doesn't hurt to know a little html, but don't waste your time. Pick up a copy of Dreamweaver and have some fun. You'll learn html along the way. r. NDC 01-10-2001, 08:01 AM Personally, I like to use Photoshop and Image Ready to make all the graphics for the layout and do the actual layout using Adobe GoLive. GoLive is a wonderful program! I'm sure many of you know already who use Adobe GoLive. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif GoLive has all the functions you'll need to make a professional functioning and looking site. One of the great feature about it is that it has a HTML and Java Editor. SysOpt.com
