Hey people, I have searched sysopt archives but couldn't find anything relevant.

The problem: Black text is printed in darkish blue on paper.
Yellow is printed in orangish color on paper.

Printer is :Canon BJC-4100 (Colour Bubble Jet).

I have tried fooling around with the color management, but no success http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif.

Pls need help !.
Thanks.

Maybe obvious?

Have you tried different paper, or did this just start to happen?

All the best, Justy.

I'm only looking from a hardware point of view, maybe it's possible to change the color's using drivers? I don't know.

Try printing out a color bar, with red, yellow, green, blue etc...
See if you can localise the colors that are giving the problem specifically. Not famaliar with that exact printer, but cartridges drying up / exhausted / faulty, can give problems like that. Although yellow should be either be good or gone.

All the best, Justy.

Have you tried cleaning the print heads? It sounds to me like the heads might be covered in ink from previous jobs.....steve

I found a link to Canons Knowledge Base where you can search for an answer to your problem-

Best of luck,

The symptoms you tell is leading me to the conclussion that the ink cartridges need to be replaced. Have you tried replacing the ink cartridge? If you have, another possibility may be due to the ink nozzle being clogged up.

Take a look at what Forum it is in now http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

The nice things about Canon ink cartridges is that you can replace the print head (not just the ink tank) when it starts to fail.

You may want to try replacing the head and see how it does. btw - it's the BC-21e, which includes the black and color ink tanks.

Both ink cartridges (color and black) are new and full.

Have tried the automatic print head cleaning facility repeatedly...no success.

I will have a look at the print head, perhaps its time to buy a new head.

Thanks for the help people ! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

better to clean the head and solve the issue instead of buying another head..
