are experiencing lock-ups with your A7V.
I posted a question 2-3 weeks ago about the above causing lock-ups. Well I have finally got my system running rock-solid using the 1005a or 1005b series of m/b BIOS updates.
You can find them here:
http://www.asuscom.de/de/support/techmain/technical.htm
(the German site seems to be more up-to-date)
Hope this helps all of you in the same boat as me!!

Last I know, it was revision 1.02... does this upgrade it ? What is that 1.005b stuff?

1.02 is the motherboard revision, not the bios version

Never updated the BIOS, most stable board I've ever owned -we own 3 - maybe a little unstable with W2K.

Gotta agree....although there has seemed to be a lot of issue with the A7V at the various associated forums (actually the issue seems to be more with the chipset as other m/b's using it are having similiar problems), I've found it to be an extremely stable platform....and fast. My only real problem was early on with the extremely slow boot up time when the ATA100 controller was being used. A Promise driver update fixed that, and the various BIOS updates have proven to more or less to address minor issues with the board, with 1005B being the best so far.

nunyadam....I've used all the BIOS versions since 1003, and I'm well aware that a lot of people have been having temp reading problems, but(and I don't know why) my temps have been consistent all the way thru....37-40'C idle depending which HSF I use (FOP-32-1 or FOP-38) and I've never seen higher than 44'C under load, so I can't give you a good answer there....sorry.
caddmannq......no problem. You guys might want to check out this A7V site....it's got a wealth of info regarding the m/b....all kinds of stuff on tweaks, mods, etc:
