After replacing my motherboard with an Intel D845HV and a P4 2ghz, I am having problems booting up. I am able to get through the initial boot sequence but when it tries to boot into windows I get a STOP ERROR telling me I have a inaccessible boot device. This only happend once I connected my HD to the board. I have tried all jumper settings on my HD, but still can't get it to boot. Any ideas

I hope you backed up your system before you replaced the motherboard?
I have seen this happen a few times myself. You may have to completely reinstall Windows due to a massive change in the hard drive controller function/drivers (such as going from ATA-33 up to ATA-100, etc).

The Win2K repair process may help here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/server/help/default.asp?url=/windows2000/en/server/help/recovery_erd.htm
If the hard drives are a RAID controller, you will have to press F6 on initial bootup and supply the drivers for it.

I went through the windows repair process. It did not end up working. I do have a backup, so I am going to try and install another windows installation and then fix the older one if I can boot up. I found some other possible fixes on Microsofts Tech Net but most of them tell me that I am going to have to format.

Don't format...just do a new installation over that one. It will leave your data. You'll have to reconfigure and reinstall other programs - that's all.

That worked good. Thanks for all the help.
