ok heres the situation.
i recently got a geforce 2 mx400 64mb to replace my tnt2 32mb
and i noticed a big diffrence in games but 3dmark2001 i only got like 300 marks diffrence or so like 2666 to a 3XXX or seomthign i don't remember i had issues using my version as well. i think one of the problems was the new drivers i gto from nividia they made my computer unstable.

anythoughts

amd t-bird 1ghz
786mb pc133
lots of hdd's
geforce 2mx400 64mb

For a GeForce2 MX400, the 3000 range is normal, your score seems right to me, a GeForce2 MX400 isnt really that big of a step from a TNT2.

With 1GHz T-Bird and Elsa Gladiac 511 GeForce2 MX400 (200/166) I was getting about 3100 points in 3DMark2001, so your score seems OK to me too.

My results:
TNT2 32MB: 1400 3DMarks;
GF2MX400 64MB: 3200 3DMarks.
Everything on a P3@1GHz.
