That FSB at 148 makes a big difference from 100fsb.....

You're right, but it shouldn't matter with that Intel...since I have an AMD the comparison of fsb should be about equal. Your chip & configuration is just slower...you need to upgrade and overclock.

Just upgraded from an ATI 8500 128MB to MSI Geforce Ti 4400 275/550 for US$250. and have o/c to 300/650 without a single problem. You should note the o/c is equal to the standard speed of the Ti 4600.
The MSI card came with an awsome software package unlike any other supplier. In all the reviews I have read it was a clear leader in the 4400 group.
My 3D Mark 2001se score increased from 9600 to 10672...

Video card will clock 300/600 easily and will definitely do more. Cannot get my FSB past 140, would love to hear of someone with similar motherboard with higher fsb's and settings to achieve it. Higher fsb will definitely push the 3Dmark past 11000

Have you tried increasing the voltage on your board, I had a similar problem however once I increased voltage to 1.85v max of my board I was clear to increase FSB without a problem.
Terminator
05-26-2002, 07:42 PM
yep..maxxed CPU voltage to 1.85V, ram maxxed and I/O voltage as well. Out of curiosity the bios has an option 'CPU DECODE'?
options are NORMAL,FAST,ULTRA, ?Which do you suggest to overclock the FSB?Have it at FAST at the moment.
I know that increasing FSB increases strain on the whole system so here is my rig...see if you can spot the weak link :-

My comment suggesting my problems were over .....should have read I was able to get my FSB well past the logjam of 134 by increasing my voltage.
I am currently considering upgrading my PC2100 RAM to PC2700 or PC3000, which are both backward compatible. I think this may be my problem as I too am stuck at FSB141, just attempted to push it higher however, no luck.
I note you are running PC2100 and perhaps this may be your issue as well....once I complete the upgrade in next couple of days will advise if FSB>141 achievable.

I got that score with my Gainward card. I have a Leadtek 4600 and I haven't been able to beat it yet. I am running a Epox 8K3a+ on my watercooler now with my FSB anywhere between 165 and 190. I just got the new AT7 with the new Highpoint 374 controler and I think I am going to try that board and see if I can get any better results.
The best score so far on the leadtek has been 12148 HERE (http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=3530383). After all that I liked the Gainward because I could attach my watercooler to the gpu (the leadtek has just too nice of a heatsink config to pull it off and attach a water block) and also I seemed to get a little better perf. (probably because of the temp dif.) out of it.

I guess my bottleneck was not the RAM as I had thought and is elsewhere in my system....can anyone provide me with any insight here.
