When I try to start Q3 it just sits there. Tried reinstalling, uninstalling and installing again. Followed uninistall instructions by uninstalling point release, then Q3 program & deleting directory and reloading. Still no luck. Running Win XP on XP1700 w/ Asus A7n266-E, 256 DDR - all updates installed.

HELP!!! need my fix

Do you have the latest drivers for your video card? You may also need to tweak your OpenGL settings in Display Properties=>Settings=>Advanced

check for all the latest driver updates for your graphics card.

when quake3 loads, it loads a blue screen called the console. what is the last line of the console say? does it state something about "could not load OpenGL subsystem? if that is the case, it is a driver issue.

also check www.quake3forums.com for some help. i post there as well and you should be able to find an answer to any question.

I had similar probs on my old rig trying to run q3 on my ol Vodoo 3 2000. Yup = ur open Gl is out of date / your drivers are newer than the version of your quake 3.

Id advise you to firstly update q3 to the latest version and give it a whirl - if that fails - then get new vid card drivers.

If that dont work - report back
