it seem's that if they have a low price they have a low reseller's rating. so who do you buy from? (alway's remember if you do the job right they will tell one person, but if you do it wrong they will tell the whole world.)

I have ordered ram from Accessmicro, Crucial, Mushkin and onvia.com. I wouldn't order from accessmicro again after reviewing their reseller rating, although my ram from them is working okay, I am only running it at 66 Mhz, so it better be since it is supposed to be PC-100. I have had excellent results from Crucial, but won't order from them anymore because they charge 8% state sales tax here. I like Mushkin the best, they have decent prices for the quality, and seem to have great service. The onvia ram order was for the Kingston PC-100 budget ram with $20 mail in rebate. The ram is fine, although I haven't received the rebate yet. As a matter of fact, I just ordered a 128 MB Dimm of PC-133 Kingston Value Ram from outpost.com for $49.95 after rebate with free overnight delivery. This is probably the best deal out there right now. If you want higher quality ram, I suggest you try mushkin.com.

The Memory Man (http://www.memman.com) . Excellent service. But then, I've only bought premium RAM from them.

For generic, I shop PriceWatch (http://www.pricewatch.com) . A phone call can help you decide if you like a vendor.

I have had the best experience with mushkin. The ram is excellent and they are fast with delivery. Ususally have best deals on weekends. Also had good experience with crucial, they currently have 15%off all ram.

I buy memory from www.buy.com (http://www.buy.com)

Some other stores offer No-Name ram for less but these folks have Brand name for about as cheap as it gets.

2nd, coupons from www.techbargains.com (http://www.techbargains.com) make the deal sweeter http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I get Crucial 128mb single sided sticks for $60.95-->>

On 64mb sticks of Kingston , PNY , Crucial it averages $30.95 a stick-->>

I ALWAYS get what I order from these folks, look and see if it is "available" or "on backorder"

I am now purchasing all of my memory from Micron's online store. Check it out:

http://www.crucial.com

This way, I am receiving proven good quality memory and not the house brand "generic" type. Prices aren't bad either. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

You answered a very important question that has been run to death here,,

Generic "no-name" memory is NOT what to use on a Customers machine..

IF you like , use it yourself and don't come back crying when it fails http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Bottom Line,, use major mfg products and you'll be MORE satisfied with the outcome..

RobRich (and everyone else that can), in case you haven't already...setup a corporate account to get an additional 10~20% off from Crucial.

www.mushkin.com (http://www.mushkin.com) has always treated me like the most important thing to them is to keep my business. They succeed because they make an excellent product and they have excellent, personalized customer service. Their "airpack" shipping is innovative and ensures safe delivery of the product.

I recently changed my mind on some RAM I ordered after receiving the package. I called and told them I wanted to exchange it for different RAM. They RMA'd the RAM I didn't want (which I had in the unopened box) and Mushkin sent out the RAM I did want with free shipping. I had the RAM I wanted in 3 days.

They also follow up with an email to check that I am happy with their product and if I have any problems.

They may cost a little more, but the peace of mind of getting a problem quickly and most fairly handled is worth it to me. Did I mention they sell excellent quality RAM? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

i've only bought online once for RAM so i couldn't tell you who is the better place to go for RAM, but when I did buy online i went to http://www.1stchoicememory.com/ and bought there. i got just what i wanted right on time, and its still working. i don't know about these other places so i couldn't tell you if they're better than another.
