Is a single stick of 256 memory faster then two 128's? I always thought it didn't matter, but now i have a friend who swears it's faster with a single 256, if it is, i'll sell my 128's and get a 256...any input?

It is just more convenient so you don't run out of slots. I have 384MB but am maxed b/c I have all three of my slots taken with 128... Dave OuTpaTienT 01-07-2001, 11:10 PM Essentially Dave is right. However, it's arguable that there is a speed difference, but even so, it'd be so minute you couldn't perceive it without sensitive equipment. Plus, if it is as I've heard then your friend is exactly wrong. Two 128s should be faster because then you have two access paths to the bank of memory. falcompsx 01-08-2001, 01:48 PM that's what i thought, i guess he was just trying to get me to sell him memory...
