I will be getting a CDRW soon and since I'll be buying CDR media without the jewel cases I want to be able to label them somehow. I want to be able to write songs on them in small font so the only way is to stick a label. Are they all the same? Are all CDRs compatible with them?
Be very carefull with stick on labels,I have heard that the labels come unstuck and jam up the CD player.Find someone with great handwriting and get them to label them .BTW if you shop around media with cases arn't much dearer.skai

Skai is correct, in HOT weather, leaving the labled CD-R's in a player of a car may cause the label to come loose.
Use with caution and you'll be OK

So there isn't one that will stick for good? If not I don't want to risk destroying my cd player. It's not worth it. I might just title them and keep a list somewhere else of what's on it. Thanks guys.

That's what I ended up doing, camaro. I don't want to risk it either, especially during the hot SoCal summers... so now I just label using a Sharpie.
Too bad I didn't ask before buying a CD Stomper. :/

I vote against the labels as well. I'm fond of Verbatim's CD-R's which have an all-white label side. My local discount/closeout store sells the jewel cases for $2.99 for a 10 pack.

Here is a free little utility that will print out a list of the contents of a CD, drive, or folder. It can be set to print a list that will fit in a CD jewel case. I use it to print a directory of my CD's then use a sharpie to mark my CD's with a title that matches the one I put on the list. http://www.homestead.com/algor/FoldPrint.html

Saw a 56x drive that exploded at a local shop that couldnt be explained, they finally found a wadded up label inside...the disk was shattered into a hundred pieces, the owner used small stick on labels, that possibly caused the disk to become "out of balance" was the final diagnosis...

Yup. A regular old sharpie should work fine, and could possibly save you some trouble, especially if you value your CD Players.

If you're worried about the labels coming off, then just buy CDRs that are white-topped for printing directly on the top of the CDR. I don't know who all sells them, but I do know Mitsui does (And you can't go wrong with them, other than pricewise).
