I know nothing about monitors. Is having a flat screen monitor that much better than the traditional monitors. Will I really know the difference?

Lycia 05-13-2002, 04:16 PM To me, flat screen monitors are like Flat Screen TVs: A MUST HAVE. Compare the Sony Vega TVs, which are perfectly Flat, to a traditional tube TV. I noticed a big difference, which is why I baught one. As for monitors, same thing for me. A flat screen monitor looks better, there is better screen edge to edge.... NDD 05-14-2002, 09:38 PM Yes. For Real :) Imperion1 05-15-2002, 09:15 PM Yes it is. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 955DF. 19" flatscreen. Wouldn't give this monitor up for anything. Well, maybe for a 21":p BadBadNeil 05-16-2002, 01:35 AM OMG they are better, I have a 17" flat Trini now, fantastic (except for the fact taht its 17"). Used monitors in school many times rounded from 17"-21" and this makes big difference. You see less distortion on teh edges of screen as well. J.A.D 05-16-2002, 10:35 AM I have a flat screen syncmaster as well. I do like it, but I think how important flat screen is is personal preference... I suggest you go to a computer store and look at the monitor displays. Maybe the difference isn't worth the price to you. Recordlord 05-16-2002, 10:41 AM I have a Sony Trinitron Multiscan G200 its a flat screen. I have had it about 2.5 years. It was pricy at the time but well worth every penny. In other words "it KICKS ***" arkie 05-16-2002, 11:43 AM I have a flat screen 21 inch Dell Trinitron. The picture is awesome! :D Also have a 17" regular screen.. it is a bore!)-| Lycia 05-16-2002, 12:01 PM Originally posted by arkie I have a flat screen 21 inch Dell Trinitron. Probably go with the flat screen, but I'll check em out at the store first. Rugor 05-16-2002, 02:39 PM All I know is that on my flatscreen Sampo Alphascan (it's only a 15" but I got it 3 years ago for $40) I can run 1024 resolution comfortably, and 1280 in a pinch. The kids are using 15" Packard Bell Monitors and they're lucky to get 800x600 resolution on those. Much nicer. J.A.D 05-16-2002, 06:36 PM If you get a trinitron, make sure the stabilizing wires don't bug you. I hardly notice them but again its a personal thing... flyingV 05-17-2002, 12:30 PM Originally posted by arkie I have a flat screen 21 inch Dell Trinitron. Yeah, flat is definitely better (<----Totally lying since I never used one nor seen one). But since now days everyone is so crazy about LCDs now(that's me!), there wouldn't be a big price difference with flat trini and regular CRT now. But from the resulution stats, flats deliever better quality. BobyJo 05-17-2002, 05:54 PM If you look at a std monitor for awhile, then go look at a flat screen monitor. You will notice the difference enough that your eyes will have to adjust to the difference. Flat Screen is a Must Have. SysOpt.com
