is there any way to access windows updates once you remove IE? (I'm planning on doing this...)

You bet there is Savant!!

. You need to get a good version of WUPDINFO.DLL from somewhere and
install it.

1. Rename your current wupdinfo.dll to wupdinfo.old
2. Save this new version to c:\windows\system.
3. Click on the Start button
4. Click on Run
5. In the Open box type regsvr32 wupdinfo.dll
6. Click Ok

This was what it took to get it working again on mine. Then I tried it and it showwed all the up-dates that I had installed, but no history. (It was like it was magic!) I then removed it again and I stick with ZDNets Updates and CNets Catchup.
