how do you make a typical game display its frame rate while playing the game?

ie, Serious Sam SE, MOHAA, RTCW, CS, GO, SOF2

In MOHAAA, the command is simply FPS.
In RTCW, it's the same as Quake3 - CG_DRAWFPS 1

If I'm wrong, let me know.

For DirectX graphics you may use a FPS counter named Fraps99.

Also Fraps99 has to be used with Gamespy(or so I am told) during a multiplier game.

Correct me if I am wrong
