Since 1stup and Spinway are gone, the very soul of the the free ISPs are now dead. Even B&N doesn't work anymore.

And I'll bet the American Express ISP doesn't work either.

Guess I'm stuck using AOL 6.0 now.

Freelane working good here in NY Yes it does have an ad banner. So far no time limit like Netzero. I just checked their phone listing they show a number that may be local in your area. http://freelane.excite.com/

Bluelight is working fine, Kmart took it over, but are now limiting hours. They have unspoken changes planned for Feb.

I hope not! I am still using Juno as the back up to my Verizon DSL. It won't bother me if they restrict me to 40 hrs on line per month, since the only time I use it is when the DSL is down. [probably less than 1 hour per month http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif]

They all limit time now (the big boys), but to me, they might as well be dead cause I'm not going to risk paying 99 cents/addt'l hour.

Bluelight.com- 25 hours then they shut you out... til the following month. No chance of charges though!

I hope so, because AOL 6.0 is a piece of big trash. I'd rather run a free ISP w/ a banner than run AOL.
