Voogru, I don't have Ghost up to step your threw the process, but when you select restore from an image, it should ask you to enter the partition size you want it to be. Basically, Ghost will repartition your hard drive, atleast my copy of Enterprise does this. E-mail me and I can do my best to help you. I'll go back and take screen shots of the process if needs be. I need to make backup anyways. hehe.

Hello,

I went to anandtech and got a reply...AMazingly he told me that i cant make an image of a partition when i make a image of the drive it makes an image of the whole drive including the partition that i have my backup files on. I went ahead and made a image file. i set it to High compression. 3.9GB! that is incluing my compy of windows and all the **** on mt backup drive.

so I deleted the space wasteing file and asked my dad if i could buy another Hdd and I will be getting a 20GB western Digital 7200RPM and ATA/100

so I will have a total of 50Gigs of space.
which is plenty for me (for now)

also when i get the new drive Im gonna make ONE 20GB partition and the 30GB drive will have once again ONE 30GB partition so i will have only 2 Hard-drives in My computer 30GB will be C:\ 20GB will be D:\

thanks for the reply.

Sounds good. I never have dealt with multiple partitions, as I like to keep everything together. Another aspect I love about Ghost is it's awesome support for CD-RW burners. I always keep a good copy of my 30gig IBM 75GXP backup on CDR, just incase.

Is Norton Ghost sold by itself or is it bundled into SystemWorks?

You can buy it separately from Symantec. I just did a quick scan over their website, this is what you want I believe: http://www.symantec.com/sabu/ghost/ghost_personal/

Thanks Mungla, I will check out the link and see if I can scrape up some money for the software and another drive.

fshanda-
Ghost 2001 is bundled with the Norton System Works Professional version. If you were wanting SW for some other feature, it may be cheeper to get the bundle. http://www.symantec.com/sabu/sysworks/pro/

That figures, my Wife has System Works but not the Pro version. I just couldn't be that lucky.
