I have an M598 Motherboard with the onboard 8mb of video. I buy an actual video card and put it in. Can someone answer a few questions for me?

1. Will this board take an AGP video card?
2. I believe this board won't take anything higher than 2x. Am I correct?
3. Will it take any 64mb video card?

Thank You.

Well since the board doesn't have an AGP slot it obviously does not take AGP cards.

You need a PCI card that is multi-VGA capable. The integrated one won't disable, allowing you to run multihead.

Since usually the NVidia chip based cards fail miserably in that area, I recommend you use something else. There's a very neat Radeon PCI card coming from PowerColor, with VGA, DVI and TV output, 64 MBytes of DDR RAM.

I've also got a 598 that I couldn't get the video to work. I bought a generic PCI card from CompUSA, it has a SiS 305 chipset and 16 meg memory. Had no trouble with installation. Win98 detected it and the small manual that came with it was very simple and clear. Cost about $35.00
