I like Google the best. It's fast, powerfull, and easy to use.

I use Dogpile (http://www.dogpile.com) . It's 11 engines all at once.

Included is GoTo.com, which has dug up some really surprising results.

i can usually find what i need with google, but i often use dogpile, but my favorite used to be www.mamma.com (http://www.mamma.com) , i always used that, but now it seems i cant find anything there

OK. I just downloaded Copernic, installed it, and tried a somewhat esoteric search. It yielded two results, one of which was a dead link. (It claims to avoid these.) The other was slightly off target.

I tried the same search with Google, which is not part of Dogpile. NO results.

DOGPILE GAVE ME DOZENS OF VALID LINKS! And it's just a website, no special software. I think I'll stay with IT. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Why don't you try www.topclick.com. (http://www.topclick.com.) Well it's not as good as Google but it has one great advantage - it doesn't use cookies, though it is very "private". Sleep calm after you have done your search ;-))

I have converted nearly my whole building of 150+ people to use google in 2 months that says something about how a broad range of people can find what they want.
How effective a search engine is depends on the search terms used google is very is and very powerfull and i rarely find a dead link which just proves that they spend a lot of effort checking there links. Within 20-50 results i can usually find 10-15 websites of relevence. Don't just try google once by comparing it with other serch engines based on one search use it for a week. Use your normal engine first and see what it throws up then go to goggle and see how much faster you find what you are looking for don't forget to read the tips section as google doesnt use standard serch engine boolean. According to a review recently published by PC Computing, the two best (by far) search engines are Google and Northern Lights.

I gave Google a try because of this article and have been using it ever since. I've have found EVERYTHING that I have looked for.
