i have a no name brand mid tower computer i bought with 400mhz pentium 3 64 ram and the other great stuff.the computer was running windows 98 and it was kinda of buggy for some reason so i decided to reinstall win98 cause i had the cd.everything was working ok before i reinstalled it but now the video and sound card are all messed up cause of it.before i had 32 bit color and the sound worked.i tryed to load the drivers from the cd but it gave me some crappy one instead and ended up only getting 16 colors and no sound.now i looked inside the case and its one of those weird motherboard where the video inputs built into it,and so is the sound card,it doesnt look at anyway possible to take out or upgrade.but i was just wondering where is the sound card and video card at? it just looks like there both built into the motherboard,is that possible.???? there are two more ports built into the board for expansion so i was thinking of putting a new sound card and video card right there in order to make it work?have u ever seen anything like this before? do you think it will bypass the other ones?

Your mobo is not weird, just has "on-board" video and sound.

Works quite well usually.

Go to device manager, right click on my computer, scroll down to the items with the problem, click the plus sign, then "properties"

Go to driver, update driver, browse to c:/Windows/System/inf
or c:/Windows/options/cabs

It may take a few tries but you'll get the hang of it.

Give it a whirl and get back often, someone will guide you through it..

if you buy a separate sound and video card, youll have to delete the onboard ones.
like the doc says, go to start, settings,
control panel,system.
