My HP Pavilion 6460 can run at 66MHz or 100MHz FSB. I have a Celeron 400 that originally came in the machine, running at 66MHz. Some time ago I upgraded to a PIII 500 at 100MHz. I made my own machine (thanks to this forum and to you, guys) and now I want my brother to have the Pavilion 6460 with the Celeron 400.
The thing is I need the jumper settings for the CPU core: bus frequency ratio for the Celeron 400. The document HP has on its website (see here) (http://www.hp.com/cposupport/personal_computing/support_doc/bph04816.html) only lists some of the frequency multipliers for CPUs at 66 and 100 MHz. I e-mailed Customer Care Support and they asked me to call... which means that they want me to pay $30 for the information I need. I replied to that message but they have not answered yet; so much for the new HP....
Also, this mobo will go up to PIII 800 (some say 850) but jumper settings for those CPUs are also missing from their information. ASUS will not help because its OEM equipment.
I know the jumper settings to change the FSB speed. Can anyone help me with the settings for the CPU core - bus frequency ratio?
Thanks!
