Question About Recording Music And Saving As A File

Just wondering if anyone knows of a software program that will allow you to record only a certain part of a song that is already on my commputer and save it to a file?

I currently have MusicMatch and I haven't been able to figure out how to record only a certain part of a song on my computer.

What you could do is convert the song to WAV format, then us a WAV editor to just pick out the part you want.
