setting AGP speed in win98SE registry?

Anyone know how to do it?

I have this A7V + ATI RAGE FURY PRO AGP4x

in 4x the card gives me locks in DVD/3D

the A7V will only run at 4x with aggressive mem settings

the VIA AGP driver (turbo-standard) only gives 4x or 1x

So, I can either get 4x (locks) or 1x (poor performance).

If I could set the setting to 2x (that works) I could get full performance + stability.
