I just tried to Ghost my HDD for the first time since installing a new CPU/MOBO(1.4Mhz Athlon T-Bird/ABIT KG7) and it keeps hanging up at " Checking Directory Structures"
I've gone through all the FAQ's at the Symantec site, and have been doing everything as I should. There was mention of a bios confliclt. Has anyone experienced this? And have you resolved it? I am afraid to install my new HDD and Ghost the old one to it until I can do a backup.
Many thanks in advance! :D

If you're running GoBack, disable it. Use Scandisk on the drive aggressively (surface scan included).

GoBack disabled, scanned, defragged, everything in the tray disabled. Worked fine the last three times I backed up with it. But this is the first attempt with the upgrade. It has to have something to do with that, but I can't imagine what.

TY for the reply. Glad to hear from ya!

...and good to see you again, Creeper. :)

Try uninstalling GoBack completely. It doesn't take much more time than unistalling it anyway.

I'll do that as soon as I get home. Here's something I can't beleive. I sent Symantec tech. support an email this morning, and got a reply this afternoon!
I need to send him a little more info, but he sounds truly interested.:)
I'll keep you posted...never had much luck with tech. support.
