Savage S3 2000
Win ME
I have jumpers on the card and I have switched them to both positions and sandra says data rate not optimal?
I really dont notice a difference either. i know my mobo supports 4X.
Is there some way to read the data rate?

What's the rest of the sys? It may not be refering to the video card. There is no way to test the agp data rate that I know of.;)

Go into sandra (make sure you have the web updates, I have 2002) then goto motherboard information and go to the heading AGP bus it will say under current data transfer. See pic to see what I am talking about.

Mine says 4X max
current: 2X 68mhz (136mhz data rate)
I suppose I have some adjustments to make. Just not sure where. I will change the jumpers again and see. Can it be done in bios setup? I could not see anything in there.
thanks;)
I will get back asap

I seen both Jumpers and mine is in the BIOS setup, but hopefully you find it, good luck, tell me how it goes.

i just took everything apart and blew it out while I was at it. I switched jumpers to another position and I get the same reading in sandra?

Sandre tells you it can be inaccurate. I wouldnt go by it to confirm if it is enabled or not. Its prob. reporting the bios incorrectly just like it says it can!:)
If your mobo is using VIA chipset, install VIA 4in1 pack with GART driver in "Turbo" mode to enable AGP 4x.
Even if you fail to enable AGP 4x, don't get into depression - with Savage2000 you'll will hardly notice the difference if any.
