Thanks asterias 05-07-2002, 08:46 AM did you patch ot with the 1.8-1.9 patch or the full patch. I mistakenly did it with the full patch and crashed the game. Check that. Hope it helps richard_cocks 05-07-2002, 01:56 PM try voice_dsound 0 I think it has something to do with the voice comms using direct sound which overrides the main game sound :/ What soundcard do you have? Is it half-duplex, full duplex? do you know if under windows you can play more than 2 (wav) sounds at once? godzilla 05-09-2002, 06:52 AM when i upgraded from quake3 v1.0 to v1.3 i lost my sound because i didnt have the correct drivers for my soundcard installed. up until then these drivers had worked with no problems. i could only find win95 and win98se drivers and i had win98 and only the win95 drivers would run properly. eventually upgraded to win98se then used them drivers. Vanian 05-09-2002, 01:11 PM There has been so many problems with the new patch that VALVE started a forum on their site. The patch also caused problems with many mods. Planethalflife.com has more details. Hopefully a new patch will fix everything. Vanian SysOpt.com
