Without you have to download a special disk from the compaq website that is specifically setup for your series machine. Mntsnow 01-04-2001, 06:57 AM Visit the Compaq support website and download the bios utility program for your computer that will fit on a 3.5 floppy and just run it from the floppy http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Rat 01-04-2001, 02:56 PM Directions: http://www.gw.total-web.net/~dperr/compaq.htm Rat... Barney 01-04-2001, 07:41 PM I have that computer.I putted 2 other hd's in it.Without having this bios on a special partition it recognizes the hd's. Usiful tip: Set the hd on "cable select".Normally it would be on master or if used as second hd slave, but the Compaq won't recognize it that way. It took me hours to find that out. One other thing.I don't know if you'll have this too,but before I had installed Windows on the new hd (I had command.com on it) the computer would only boot from floppy. Ronald skai 01-05-2001, 01:52 AM Thanks to all download from compaq the go ,Aint it great to have a site like Sysopt . Thanks again .skai Rat 01-05-2001, 03:22 PM Ronald, Some Compaqs don't use that non-DOS partiton, but the Despro 2000 series definately does use it, so do alot of the Presarios (not all). Rat...
