On a friend’s Win98 machine he no longer uses Netscape 4.7 and want to uninstall it, but its not listed in Software Add/Remove nor is there a uninstall file.

Have him reinstall it properly and then uninstall it with Add/Remove Programs. It's easier that way.

He got dial up and was hoping to avoid that. :)

Ok. I would repair IE to break Netscape's hold on associations and then just delete the folder and shortcuts. He can use Windoctor later to really clean up or reinstall/uninstall.

That is a good point because Netscape works better on ParaChat what he does mostly online, but IE freeze up. I think this week I'll have him upgrade to IE6.
