Qu about the 2000/NT password article

i thought i'd give it a go and change my password to contain some Alt characters but i can't get NT 4 to accept them when i type them in as part of my new password or username. Should they be displayed in the box or are they not visible. Or more probably am i being thick? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

You're trying to use a "weird" ALT character as part of your username? We never tested for that, and I wouldn't be surprised if that gives you problems.

When you type an ALT char, you have to hold down ALT and type out the 3 or 4 numbers on the numeric keypad. When you release, an asterisk (star) should appear in the password section, just as if any character has been typed.

wasn't using the keypad, works perfectly now (haven't treid username)
