i have a gemlight motherboard and tried to replace graphics card with a nvidia tnt2 5ooo but cant get computer to recognize keeps trying to locate old card. old card was on board i have tried changing jumpers about but doesnt work anyone got any advice

How about bios setup try to disable the on board play card

the board is a sis5598 i have tried going into BIOS but can find nothing that will disable the on-board graphics

Jumpers J4 and J5 are used to disable onboard VGA.

tried using those jumpers but no good i have been told the card i am trying to instal is no good i need to install 1 that is ATI dont no what that means

When you have jumpers set t6o disable, Does your system boot up with the Nvidia card installed and your monitor hooked to it.?
If it does then you need to install the drivers for the Nvidia board.

boots up but in safe mode wont boot to normal mode

When system boots in safe mode go to control panel - System- device manager click on display adapter then properties update driver and try to install the drivers for the Nvidia

when it reboots in safe mode neither of my disk drives are recognized so cant install the drivers
