Hi guys,
I am using Windows XP and have 2 physical hard drives & I would like to use a bakcup software to automate the backup process and backup my important data from Physical Drive #1 to Drive #2 on a daily basis.
Please kindly advise.

Have you tried windows backup? You can tell it which files to back up and what time to do it.
Start>programs>accessories>system tools>backup. It has a wizard that will walk you thru the process.
Check out Salty Brines FolderClone and FolderMatch (all minor and major updates are free there after)
www.saltybrine.com
Check out Aquarius IT Consultancy’s AISBackup (all minor and major updates are free there after)
www.aiscl.com
Drive Image V2002 (great imaging program)
www.powerquest.com
If you need anymore post again.

Hi there,
Many thanks for your suggestion & I will try the Salty Brines FolderClone 1st.
Thanks for helping.
Definitely check out FolderMatch (in particular choose for deletion: Send to recycle bin option) and FolderClone (in particular choose for deletion: Safe Copy option and Send to recycle bin option) but read the help files very carefully. In experimenting you do not want to delete important files in the advent of a configuration mistake. It is best to test on a test partition with test data. Powerquest’s Drive Image in now at 2002 version. If you do not have an imaging program, I would think about going for DI first, as it can be configured for daily updates on non-system disks.
Once you have gone through FolderClone and FolderMatch, PM me about DI.

Hi G,
Folder Clone does the trick for me and I love it. BTW, I just downloaded the DI 2002 from FOSI web site. It is a great program too.
Thanks for your feedback and suggestion.
Yeah, FolderClone works great and it’s only in early development too. The great thing about Salty Brine software in addition is that all updates are free there after. So their software is only going to get better but still remain free there after – cannot be bad can it. Software is so much more affordable this way. Nowadays I seriously consider the updating pricing policy before I go in for the plunge. PowerQuest is one of the over pricing updating offenders. Hence, DI via FOSI suits me swell too. If the likes of M$, Symantec and PowerQuest think they can bleed me dry, they can think again.
Why not try FolderMatch too. I’m sure they would sell it to you as if the two were bought together and so give you a nice reduction. You certainly have a nice backup strategy. I recommend a second HDD unless you have one already.
Happy synchronising.
