How do I troubleshoot this: to start off with my friend dropped his motherboard with the CPU on it (this is a brand new computer that we were building), but it seemed that all it did was bend some pins. So we put it into the computer, and everything seemed to be working fine. Well 3 weeks later, the computer starts to act wierd, restarts out of Win XP and now most of the time won't go to the BIOS screen with the memory count and devices attached list.

After fooling with it, and restarting the computer many times, finally I get into the BIOS screen, but it won't boot to WinXP. Then i finally do get it to boot into XP, and it seems to be working OK.

Do you think I should go ahead and just order the mother board, or is there something else the could be wrong? Whats the best thing to do?

Thanks!

If you cannot POST part of the time, there's something wrong with the the basic setup. Remove the board and examine it carefully. Make sure that all cards and memory sticks are seated properly.

Me? I would RMA the board.
