i have times where im just surfing the web and all of a sudden i get this message that "an illegal operation has be performed...will close program" and it terminates my connection to the web ( in my case it disconnects me from AOL). why does it do that? can i adjust anything in my internet explorer properties to make it not do that?

get rid of AOHELL lol http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
no actualy it could be any # of things bad in stall of AOL or or any other program that is running on your system or corrupted files drivers

most of these type errors are coused by 2 diff programs trying to access the same memmory address at the same time or a bad file trying to be used

they can be really hard to track down and fix

you can try uninstalling aol
and or making sure nothing else is running when your serfin

try the 3-fingered salute
[control,alt,del simultaneously]
which will show show all the programs
that are active, and end task the
ones you dont need.
