when I used the cleaner to look for antivirus simply because my sytem was slow ans freezing up all the time, slow IE ect..

The cleaner found BDE Trojen (compliments of Kazaa.) it said.
The cleaner removed it, so am I good to go now?
Or do I need to search for any other bde folders.
.. I also updated my win/me.
I am hoping this helps.
Any further help or sugestions would be greatly appreciated

since you're using ME, the virus could be nesting in your "system restore" folder, this folder can't be edited, so you would need to disable system restore and reboot to purge the folder, then re-enable it and reboot again, virus scan again to make sure it's gone.

still wanting to know about the .dll's though

that's very good detective work sunn , and a fascinating read as well, it's amazing that these companies could for one minute think that thier activities are legal, this altnet program is not only an invasion of privacy, but a virus to boot, I won't have these ppl stealing my processing power, and what's to stop them from kicking ppl off thier own computers completely or downloading sensitive information. I'm going to load up a second firewall.

Thanx for the pointer.

When people want to know where hackers get their ideas they can walk into anyone's computer and do what they want to do, they should note these practices by people in legitimate business!

When people in business have no regards for our privacy and only their money, what do you expect?

Have to say I have some reservations as to accuracy of the cleaner, it persists in flagging a particular .exe on my system as syst trojan while three other trojan scanners give it the all
clear. I'm going to mail the author about it but I'm pretty sure its a false alarm.

msxBDE40.dll is ok , the other two are suspect. I would rename them, restart, run all my apps to see if I have a issue, if all is aok then I delete.

Thanks for the link Johnny one of the .dll I was questioning was in there...

My opinion Kazaa. is a good program once you remove the spyware and their BDE program .

I really like Kazaa, I just can't stand for their bull, though. Anyone know another program with as many users? I've experimented with a few, like Imesh. Imesh is pretty good, but I have my suspicions about their installers too.
