I was assured that I would have cable access within a few months. That proved to be wrong.
Now I'm stuck with a 26.4k phone line, and a Linksys befsr41 router with cable capability.
I'm using it for a LAN connection, but is there a way to use a cable router on a phone line?
Or do I need a separate router?

You can't use the router as a router, but you can use it as a hub and share the connection with Windows Internet Connection Sharing.

I was suppost to get optical to my home. I got a t3, 2 optical lines, and a t1 going down my street.... Ohh man... I got screwed.. I would have had so much power if the government didn't stop funding and if Comcast didn't buy out my poor RoadRunner! Bah!
You know how hard it is to live 15 feet from that much power?!

Comcast didn't buy out my poor RoadRunner! I have worse news. AOL owns RoadRunner through it's purchase of Time-Warner. :(

Well maybe he got rich selling drugs. lol.
I think I'll hit him up for a satellite hook-up instead.
Btw elroy, thanks, I will look into it.
Bill, I know many people with cable access, and they have no interest in it. I'm jealous, and if I get Hi Speed access within the year, I will send you my dial up modem.(You pay shipping)

Mr Murphy's Law about DSL / Cable states "those who can get it; don't want it, and those who can't; want it."
For those of you finding a nice builder who promises Fiber to the curb or some other BS to get you in there. Must realize that a builder doesnt know or care about Broadband services and usually wastes the money running Fiber around since the transport fees (ISP) for providing a T-3 connection to your house is around $20k a month. Sry just like you, I'm sick and tired of this BS floating around when these builders promise ****. Since I'm mainly interested in what the hell is feeding the "Fiber to the curb" Currently most of these subdivisions do not have the proper equip to run a "true Fiber to the Curb" while I dont punish them for thinking ahead its really overkill now-a-days since the Phoen Company will if your lucky only run a OC-3 to the subdivision and your foolish builder doesnt know anything about networks so he doesnt do anything with it. a smart builder would provide the services availible to the residents, but Fiber equipment isnt cheap and the people qualified to set up a Fiber network are few and far between ='ing TONS of MOOLA.
So basically you're still at the mercy of everyone again!
Basic ISP/Transport Info:
T1 (1.544 Mb/s Up/Dn) is around $1300/Month
DSL (640 / 272 Kb/s U/D) is roughy $32/ Mon for transport and $15 -22 for ISP
DSL 1 Meg service (1 up/dn) is ~$88/mon transport and 50-60 for ISP
As you can see it gets very expensive when you upgrade past basic DSL service and when you move into a Designed Service you a paying a fortune this is because of alarm monitoring and ATM priority. So if anyone thinks that a T-3 is going to be running into their house is in for a big shock considering a T-3 has to be run on coax or fiber (DS-3/OC-3) and the phone company doesnt using coax in outside plant it has to be Fiber which hellacious in price for running since it aint cheap for the Fiber itself and splicing is a costly event.
