Peter Missel likes it. He's the motherboard magician around here. ;)

M812LMR is Duron-only, original or Morgan doesn't matter.

BAT power supplies are very poor in reacting to quick load transitions, that's why no Athlons on this one.

Even with Durons, use common sense, so don't try an 1.3 GHz on a 135 watt PSU.

That known, people who have it are generally happy with it. It's the best thing you can do to an old BAT box, a close relative to the very popular mATX M810LR.

Now if only they'd be available here in Germany ...

the disadvantage of this mobo: AMD(:D) but the PC-Chips website says it can have Atholon.....

Current M812LMR (v5.x) take any Duron, older ones (up to v3.1) are limited to 1.0 GHz.

... that'll give you no more CPU speed either. An 1.3 GHz Duron runs circles around any Pentium-III out there.

Read reviews on Tom's Hardware website

A PII Tualatin 1.2 BEATS a 1.2 Althon Xp.

Sorry just had to post my brother has a 1.26 tualatin PIII, and also while your on tom's hardware website look up the Pentium 4 chips, they are comming out with a new ram which is Double DATA rate RDRAM which makes them SMOKE any Althon.. its comming out very soon....

Later

That is the "server" Tualatin w/512KB cache. It requires a server motherboard. They are not really comparable, so the test is not fair.

Don't forget that I am a P3 Tualatin lover. ;)

all you need is a ABIT ST6 Raid Motherboard to use a 512K 1.26 Tualatin Chip.. which my brother has

Thanks for the tip!

Yeah Intel has to use a server chip to beat a home market chip, still makes Intel look bad.

I hope your theories on Son-of-Rambus aka Quadram are right.
Just wait till Opteron is out, 533 DDR, etc....heh will make that Tualatin look like a smudge on a sidewalk.

Nah, I am a poor loser SiS-boy.
Getting the K7S5A or the A7S333 a few days from now.

update: Opteron is using DDR400.

Oh...SiSsy! The important question here is if you would build a mission-critical, 24/7 server with an Athlon/SiSsy combination. That's what separates the men from the boys. ;)

Mission critical servers are NEVER built from standard mainboards.

...or with AMD CPUs. As a matter of fact, they usually use SPARC. :p
